What is Sauce AI? An AI product that analyses customer feedback across all teams, analysing 1000s of pieces of data each minute. Providing real-time insights personalised to each individual in an Org.

The problem: I was hired at Sauce to help them launch their BETA product, drive design strategy, test and improve the product experience, and develop a design system of UI components. When I joined Sauce, the product was nearly impossible to use. Inconsistent terminology coupled with half-baked features added fuel to the fire.

The outcome -> Design and usability played a critical role in enabling the team at Sauce to go from $0 to over US$522K ARR in less than 6 months. With key customers such as Atlassian, Whatnot, Linktree, and ZIP Money. Having all customer feedback analysed by Sauce AI. This meant hundreds of thousands of pieces of customer feedback from Zendesk, Surveys, Intercom, Slack messages… all being analysed live — by Sauce AI.

The design system: That we nicknamed “Pasta”, as it included all ingredients to make Sauce AI. Even as a small team, this ended up being once of my most comprehensive design systems. With complex “And-Or” filters, stock-like graphs, dark mode, and an entire feedback map.

Product explainers: On top of product iterations for 4+ engineering streams, Matt Hinds (CEO) was flying back and forth from San Francisco every few months selling the product to tech giants like Atlassian and Linktree. Weekly product explainers, marketing materials and assets for podcasts were often requested.

The marketing site: Was relentlessly refined. And went through two major interations. One overhaul within the first 2 months when I joined. And another 8 months later in preparation for a Webflow rebuild which was developed by 224 industries.
