Design Ops & Culture

What do successful design operations look like? At early-stage tech companies, design departments tend to scale much later than others. Often with one or two designers trying to address everyone’s needs and very little visibility or scope to move. Successful design operations seeks to build a centralised (or de-centralised) multi-disciplinary design team that addresses your product roadmap and goals.

As a Design Lead, I work with all departments to establish design systems, principles, workflows,

asset repositories, product audits, and user feedback cycles. This enables designers to have the time to design robust, validated solutions and provides the business visibility into where design is going.

What do you mean by design culture? It means creating a culture of open feedback & inclusion. Working visually to help others explore, play and expand their ideas. It also means mentoring designers, understanding their ambitions and establishing career paths to grow.
